Upcoming Event
-----------------
Join us as we kick-off our book drives on each partner campus with the viewing of the film
Pray the Devil Back to Hell.
It's an uplifting and gripping account of a group of brave and visionary women who demanded peace for Liberia, a nation torn to shreds by a decades-old civil war.
The Campus Set-Up period provides Partners On Campus (POC) the tools and information needed to successfully participate in the Liberian Books Project. During this period, we identify 40 student leaders on every participating campus who each commit to collect 25 used textbooks during the academic year as a service learning activity.
Student leaders who organize the collection of 1,000 used textbooks on their college campuses make the achievements of the Liberian Books Project possible.

The Online Book Exchange allows millions of people to support Liberia's educational development by providing a platform through the campaign, A Million Books For A Million Lives, through which individuals may donate books to support the Liberian Books Project. Donated books are sorted into two tiers. Tier I books are designed for kindergarten thru 12 grade levels. Tier I books are shipped to literacy centers in Liberia. Tier II books are designed for college level use in the US. Tier II books are placed into our online books store . Through the online books store , millions of individuals in search of used books are given an opportunity to support the Liberian Books Project by purchasing these books through our online books store . Each time this exchange occurs the proceeds support the Liberian Books Project.
The campaign, A Million Books For A Million Lives, collects used books from hundreds of colleges across the US and resells them through its online books store . In partnership with Alibris.com, these books are available to millions of students at significantly reduced costs. The foundation acknowledges with special thanks our online bookstore partners: Alibris.com, Barnes & Noble, Borders, and soon to include Amazon.com.
Representatives of our Partners On Campus (POC) from each successful college partner travel to Liberia to deliver educational supplies to literacy centers and see the wind turbines and solar electricity generators installed.
